Enabling Medical Innovation and Discovery

Through the generosity of Rick and Jeanene Stephens, the Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute builds a culture where research is a strategic imperative and an integral component of patient care at Carle Health.

Carle investigators hold a strong commitment to translational research and create a culture of inquiry that opens doors to new methods of preventing, detecting and treating disease. While our investigators are the innovators, the Institute prides itself on being innovative, too.

We’re nimble and open to creative approaches. We create pathways for our investigators to push the envelope. We’re committed to expanding support services and encouraging the development of clinical expertise.

We forge collaborative connections that positively impact current and future clinicians and scientists. Our partnership with the University of Illinois through ongoing research and through the establishment of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine ensures exceptional training for a new generation of physician-innovators.

Collaboration is inherent in our organizational structure, too, and even our physical space — with research labs embedded within the clinical environment.

At the Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute, we support, nurture, test and apply new discoveries that address today’s critical healthcare challenges.
