Carle has been engaged in research for more than 40 years through innovative programs committed to advancing clinical medicine in a variety of disciplines. We work on independent studies and collaborative projects developed and conducted in partnership with academic and industry partners. Our programs are focused on practical, collaborative clinical research that translates scientific knowledge into a plan of action that improves outcomes for patients.

Areas of Research

Cancer and NCORP

Our cancer research spans clinical trials to independent studies for several types of cancer including but not limited to breast, lung, colon, melanoma, prostate, and ovarian cancer. We're actively pursuing advancements in disease prevention, early diagnosis and the treatment of all forms of cancer.

Imaging and CRIP

This highly interdisciplinary program includes several imaging modalities, with a unique specialization in high-field MRI, utilized to develop cutting-edge imaging systems and techniques for clinical applications and medical science.

Rural Health

The rural health program aims to develop innovative solutions to address health concerns of rural populations and providers by fostering a collaborative relationship between the Carle Rural Alliance for Exceptional Care and the University of Illinois.
