Physician and Scientific Investigators
Carle’s research enterprise, the Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute, provides a full range of staff-supported services to our investigators, creating an extraordinary environment for multiple disciplinary research and advancing healthcare. You may also choose to pursue a faculty appointment in the Carle Illinois College of Medicine to educate and train the physician innovators of tomorrow in the world’s first engineering-based college of medicine.

Research Internships
Undergraduate, graduate and medical students gain valuable clinical research experience while assisting staff and investigators with data-capture and quality-review aspects of research. You may also perform basic literature searches using PubMed and other medical databases to gain basic understanding of the science behind the projects. Non-scholastic Internships
Non-scholastic internships provide opportunities to students who are not interested in receiving college credit. These volunteer opportunities are not guaranteed, are available on a per-request basis only and at the discretion of the department.
